What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the third-largest health profession in the world, after medicine and dentistry. A chiropractor is a primary health care practitioner who specialises in spinal and joint health – focusing on the prevention, diagnosis and conservative treatment of spine-related disorders and painful joints.
In South Africa, chiropractors complete a six-year degree before registering. The word chiro means “done by hand”: an adjustment is a safe, gentle, controlled force applied to a joint to restore movement and reduce pain – helping you improve your quality of life without drugs or surgery.
